Greeting Blog-friends!
I have been on a "posting" hiatus. The last few weeks have been full of twists and turns that have required my full attention to navigate.
As many of you know, my father has returned to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas for cancer treatment. Our fight began in 2006 with a diagnosis of colon cancer. This battle has tested the mettle of the strongest man and woman I know, my mother and father. I can't express how thankful we are for the hundreds and thousands of people who have been praying and believing for a miracle.
The church family that my Dad has pastored for all but 10 years of my life has been an incredible support to my parents. We love you TPC DeQuincy! The church that I pastor, Abundant Life Church, has been so understanding of this season and has stood by our family with prayer and fasting.
My father is in need of a miracle from God. I have be challenged in my spirit to coordinate another focused season of prayer and fasting for his healing. Beginning August 20, I will personally be fasting and praying strategically for my father. If you would be willing to join me for any part of this, I'd love to hear from you. Post a comment! I'll be sharing your thoughts with my father. Please forward this email to everyone you know that will pray in faith with us.
If you have any "David Hennigan" thoughts that would be an encouragement to him, please post so that I can share with Dad. We are going to join together believing God for a supernatural work in his body.
I appreciate you. Thanks for your love, support, friendship, prayer, and faith.
Jeff
we will definitely be praying. restoration. grace. peace.

I will certainly join with you for your dad. Unfortunately, I know first hand how painful it is to watch a parent fight so hard & lose strength. I also know God is able to do abundantly above all we can ask or think. Tell your father I still think about the message he preached at the transition service. That was an awesome message & we still have some of the oil (even after anointing our home, cars & the cabin).
This is one of my favorite scriptures - "I know the plans i have for you'", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you hope & a future". Jeremiah 29:10,11

Hey I will definitely be praying for you dad. I will fast on Aug. 20 with you. I strongly believe in the power of prayer and fasting. I know its hard when someone you love so much is battling a difficult illness. My 90 year old grandmother passed away in June. The last year was hard watching her suffer from heart failure, but I knew the Lord was there all the time.

Jeff,
My wife Rhonda and I send our love and prayers. I think often of your father with many fond memories. I will never forget him as the pastor at Haynesville for when I preached my last revival before settling at Singer. Bro.David Hennigan is very much on our minds and in our hearts these days.

I will be praying for your dad! I do not go to his church but I have friends here in DeQuincy who do. Several months ago I started a battle with what they suspected was cancer.
When I prayed about God told me to go have your dad pray me.I have not been able to meet with him yet but I thought it might be insirational to you to know that God believes in your dad! and that this battle has opened up a whole new section of the ministry field to him.
I have seen God heal many people who the doctors have given up on and I believe that He will heal your dad!

Jeff, we will be praying and fasting with you and your family. Brother Hennigan is a very special man to many of us. I think I have mentioned that Weldon and I have heard many Pastors in the Dallas Area and always leave saying..."No One Can Preach Like Brother Hennigan". We have missed him and TPC. We are believing for a miracle!!

Dear Brother Jeff:
I saw your letter in the DeQuincy News this morning. Over the past several weeks Brother Hennigan has been on my mind. I met your father last year during my Senate campaign and was not only impressed but inspired by his faith and leadership. My family and I will join you in fasting and praying for Brother Hennigan.

Cancer cannot crush you, it will reveal your hidden treasures; cancer cannot silence your spirit, however it does amplify your faith and strengthen your heart strings. You guys are fighting the good fight and the victory has been secured; I pray the warm embrace of our prayers are felt throughout this journey.

Jeff I just wanted you to know that I read your letter in the paper. I remember when you and your family first came to DeQuincy. Every Sunday after Sunday school your dad would always go to the back of the chruch right after the service and greet everyone. I can remember thinking I wanted to get back there first so I could shake his hand before anyone else. Your dad has been so faithful to our church and congregation through all the years. I have watched your mom and dad through all of this and I think to myself, what an example they have been to all of us. They have handled this with so much grace. I know your mom gets so weary but she never shows it. I lift her up everyday in prayer. So many times I know Bro. Hennigan did not feel like being at church but he was there, always so faithful. It felt so good to see him in church Sunday morning and then again Sunday night. He even sang a little.
Bro. Welch and Bro. Braswell have been preaching on faith. We have been reminded that we have to keep asking, and by praising and worshiping God, we are releasing our miracle. I know God is a miracle worker. If it would not be for him I would not have a sister right now. You and Miquell stood in that ICU waiting room that night with me and my family when they told us she may not make it through the night. She was on a respirator and dialysis but through a lot of prayer and fasting God performed a miracle in her body. She started breathing on her own again and her kidneys start functioning on their own. No matter what doctors say, God has the final word.
I want you to know that I pray for you and your family daily. I love all of you.

Hey Jeff,
Just wanted to say how much we love you guys and
miss you too, but I know we all grow up and get
out on our own so, love has no boundaries so you
are still in our hearts.
We have been really touching God for your Dad's
complete healing and I have felt a quickening of my spirit in all of my prayer that he has been
healed and the evidence will show up when he goes
back to M.D.Anderson for his markers to be checked. Melanie Granger and I have the same
faith that the markers will show healing of your
dad and the evidence will be documented for the
world to know that God performs miracles. I was
reading Vanessa's post and I too was in the
waiting room of her sister and heard people talking about her funeral they thought was about
to happen but not me I knew God would heal her and that was a miracle that we all witnessed.
The prayers I am praying are all of praise because of the miracle I believe will be talked about around the world, because with all of the
prayer that the world is holding for his health
we will truly rejoice. I know that anyone that
ever listened to even one of your dad's sermons
would know what a truly man after God's own heart
he is. Earl & I love him and your mom so much.
He can reach your heart with a message and make
you laugh at his joy...like the time he received a remote control toy for Christmas and brought to
Sunday School and showed us how it worked...Gosh
that was Joy.
We pray, we fast and we Believe that God is awesome!! Love youall Loads and Loads!

Jeff...I can remember the prayer meetings you would hold before Sun. PM service and what a wonderful move of God we had. It was in one of those prayers that God spoke to me about healing my cousin that had a brain tumor. The other night as I was praying for healing, strength, endurance, etc. for your dad and mom; God spoke to me again. He is going to do a complete healing in your dad. Your dad has prayed long and hard for a mighty revival in DeQuincy and the devil has fought him all the way. When the Lord HEALS your dad, get ready DeQuincy because the windows of heaven are going to pour out a mighty revival like never before.
I will be fasting and praying with you.

Just wanted to say that my prayers are with you and your family through this trying time. I hope that your Dad finds the strength that I know he has to pull through this. I am originally from De Quincy and your Dad meant a lot to my Dad before he passed away 18 years ago. My Dad had gone back to be a member of the church after 1983 and have to dealing with a lot of emotions and your Dad helped and made it possible for him to be part of the church again and then your Dad preached for his funeral in 1989. I will always owe him so much that a Thank You can not repay for showing my Dad the love and kindness that he did. So if you would give him my best wishes and let him know that Gerald Neal's daughter hopes only the best for him and your family. Jeff I know what it feels like to lose your Dad and I hope and pray that you do not have to experience that loss anytime soon. My prayers are with you and your beautiful family. I was also glad the your Mom is ok through her ordeal that she went through on top of all of this. You look so much like your Dad and I am very glad that you followed in his footsteps I am sure that he is extremely proud of you. My thoughts are prayers are with you.

I'm sorry to hear that your dad is going through that. I believe that the Kingdom of God is stronger than the disease that is tormenting your dad's body right now. I speak healing into your dad's body and command this cancer to bow it's knee to the name of Jesus Christ and leave his body. I also speak strength to you and your family as the weight of these situations have been heavy at times. We declare open heavens in this situation and ask the heaven would come to earth. In Jesus name!
You do not know me at all, but I came across your site today and felt to reach out to you. God bless you! ~~ Matt Legere
