Driving forces you to focus your full attention on the direction of your destination. The rear and side views are just mere reference points for decisions. Today, the lonely road has provided me lots of time for forward thinking. So many mind blurring possibilities on the horizon for our lives. I wish God would just hijack a blue-tooth signal and speak right in my ear.
No matter where the road leads, there are a few things that are clear...
- I want my wife, Miquell with me on the journey. The passion in her soul and the desire to give grace a chance with humanity make her more beautiful every day. Our dual roles in the church and home are often difficult to balance. I'm sure I have blown that time after time. Thanks, Q...for being patient with me in the process. You are my mirror of how God sees me. Scary thought.
-I want my kids, Eva and Gib, on the journey with me forever. I desire to be a great "Dad" in the eyes of God and my kids. If you're thinking of jacking with my kids, think again!
-I want to be a Pastor, for those that call ALC "home", that leads from a place of intimacy with God. I am not interested in leading by what is "acceptable". I want to lead by doing what is "right"!
More forward thinking to come. I don't want to miss my exit.:)
with those three ground tags, it looks as though you have a well-triangulated direction. keep moving forward. the best is yet to come.

Thank you for putting into words what so many of us in ministry know and think about but struggle to make a reality. Placing those boundaries in our lives that allow us to grow with our family and keep them from resenting "the church" is so important today!! You rock!
